Computer repair that doesn't try to upsell you.
Hardware, software, and the networking work most shops in town don't want to touch. Bring your machine in or drop a message about what's wrong - I'll tell you straight whether it's worth repairing before you spend anything.
What I do
Three kinds of broken, one person to call.
Pick a tab - each one covers everything I actually handle under that category, not just the headline stuff.
If it's a physical part, I've usually got one on hand or can order it in a couple of days. Below is everything that falls under "hardware" here - not just the obvious stuff.
Screen replacement
Cracked, flickering, or dead laptop and all-in-one screens. Most common panels are in stock; less common ones take 2-4 days to order in.
Battery replacement
Swollen batteries, batteries stuck at low health, or laptops that only run plugged in. Always checked for swelling before anything else, since that's a safety issue.
Keyboard & trackpad repair
Sticky keys, missing keycaps, unresponsive trackpads, spilled-liquid keyboards.
Charging port & power jack repair
Loose connections, ports that need the cable held at an angle, or ports that have stopped charging the machine at all.
Hinge & chassis repair
Loose or cracked laptop hinges, broken chassis clips, lids that don't sit right anymore.
Fan replacement & dust cleanout
Loud fans, overheating, laptops that throttle under any load. Full internal dust-out plus thermal repaste on the CPU/GPU.
Data recovery
Dead or clicking hard drives, corrupted SSDs, accidentally formatted drives. Success depends on the failure type - I'll tell you honestly what the odds look like before charging anything.
SSD & HDD upgrades
Swapping a slow hard drive for an SSD, or adding more storage, with a full clone of your existing setup so nothing gets reinstalled from scratch.
RAM upgrades
Adding memory for machines that struggle with multitasking, browser tabs, or heavier software.
Custom desktop builds
Built around what you actually do with it - gaming, video editing, office work, or just browsing and email all call for a completely different build.
Liquid & power-surge damage
Spills, monsoon-related power surges, or lightning-strike damage. Board-level inspection to see what's salvageable before recommending a full replacement.
Printer setup & repair
Paper jams, print quality issues, driver problems, and getting a printer shared properly across multiple computers.
Monitor, dock & peripheral setup
External monitors, docking stations, webcams, and getting multi-monitor setups working the way you actually want them arranged.
AMC for offices
Annual maintenance contracts for small offices - scheduled check-ins instead of waiting for something to break.
Slow, crashing, infected, or just confusing - usually fixable without wiping the whole machine. Here's the full range of what "software" covers.
Virus & malware removal
Pop-ups, hijacked browsers, fake antivirus warnings, ransomware. Cleaned up and checked for what let it in, so it doesn't just come back.
Windows / macOS installation
Fresh installs, upgrades between versions, or fixing a Windows install that won't boot properly anymore.
Driver installation & updates
Graphics, audio, wifi, and printer drivers that are missing, outdated, or causing crashes.
Speed-ups & performance tuning
Slow startup, laggy multitasking, or a machine that's "just gotten slow over time" - usually startup clutter, a dying drive, or background processes eating resources.
Software installation & troubleshooting
Office, Photoshop, Tally, GST/billing software, and other everyday business or creative tools that won't install, activate, or open properly.
License & activation help
Genuine licensing sorted out properly for Windows and common software - no cracked installs, since that's usually what causes half these problems in the first place.
Backup & cloud storage setup
Google Drive, OneDrive, or an external-drive backup routine set up so a future hardware failure doesn't mean losing everything.
Email setup
Outlook, Gmail, or a custom domain inbox (like this one) configured properly across your computer, phone, and any other device you use.
Browser fixes
Hijacked homepages, unwanted toolbars, extensions you didn't install, or a browser that's just become unusably slow.
Parental controls
Screen-time limits, content filtering, and app restrictions set up on kids' devices.
Data transfer between machines
Moving everything - files, settings, sometimes installed programs - from an old computer to a new one.
Dead wifi zones, routers that need daily restarts, offices with five routers fighting each other - this is the part most repair shops skip entirely. Everything below is done on-site.
Home wifi dead-zone fixes
Figuring out why the signal doesn't reach the back room or upstairs, and actually fixing it - sometimes a mesh system, sometimes just better router placement.
Router setup & configuration
New router setup, firmware updates, and configuring settings properly instead of leaving everything on default.
Wifi mesh systems
Whole-home or whole-office mesh coverage for bigger spaces or multiple floors, sized to the actual building instead of guessing.
Office network wiring
Proper ethernet runs through the walls, patch panels, and switches - instead of wifi extenders fighting each other across the office.
Firewall & network security
Basic network security setup for small offices - closing off unnecessary access, setting up guest networks separate from the main one.
Shared printers & file servers
Getting a printer or shared drive properly accessible to everyone on the network, without it dropping off randomly.
CCTV / IP camera networking
Getting security cameras properly integrated onto the network with remote viewing set up, for shops and offices.
VPN setup
Secure remote access set up for people who need to reach office files or systems from home.
Speed & drop-off troubleshooting
Diagnosing whether a slow connection is the ISP, the router, or the wiring - and fixing whichever one it actually is.
Multi-floor coverage planning
Mapping out access point placement for buildings where one router was never going to be enough.
Pricing
Roughly what things cost.
Exact price depends on the machine, but here's what most jobs run so you're not guessing before you get in touch.
| Diagnostic (waived if you go ahead with the repair) | ₹300 |
| Virus / malware cleanup | ₹600 - ₹1,200 |
| Screen replacement, laptop | ₹2,500 - ₹6,500 (parts vary) |
| SSD upgrade + data transfer | ₹800 + cost of drive |
| Home wifi fix (single visit) | ₹700/hr, most take 1-2 hrs |
| Office network wiring | Quoted after a walkthrough |
No fix, no fee on repairs - if I can't get it working, you only pay for parts you've already told me to order.
About
Who's fixing it.
Century Computers opened in Sonipat in 2026, run by me, Vivek Bajaj. No franchise, no chain behind it, and no bonus for pushing you toward a new machine - if a ₹500 part gets another two years out of your laptop, that's what I'll tell you to do.
Still a one-person shop for now, which means the person who looks at your laptop is the same person you talk to on email and the same person who hands it back to you.
From the bench this month
"Someone brought in a laptop convinced the motherboard was dead. Turned out to be a loose RAM stick. Ten minutes, no charge."
